E-Mail - Netscape Setup

You can download Netscape Communicator at www.netscape.com.

You will be prompted to set up your email account when you install Netscape. There are several pieces of information you will need when you're setting up your mail account. You can get this information from the New Domain Vital Information email we sent to you when you set up your account or contact customer service for more information. Those include the following:

  • POP3 Server - www.YOUR-DOMAIN.NAME
  • SMTP Server - www.YOUR-DOMAIN.NAME (or set this to your dialup ISP SMTP server setting)
  • Username - the email login
  • Password

Netscape will ask for your email password the first time you check your mail. Once you've set up your email, you can always go back and switch the settings, following this path:

To change settings, do the following:

  1. Go to the Edit menu
  2. Choose Preferences
  3. Click the "+" next to Mail and Newsgroups
  4. Click on Identity
  5. Click on Mail Servers
  6. Click "Edit"
  7. Enter "www.YOUR-DOMAIN.NAME" (no quotes) for Server Name
  8. Server type is POP3
  9. Enter the user name for the email account
  10. Hit OK
  11. Under the field for the Outgoing mail (SMTP) server, enter "www.YOUR-DOMAIN.NAME" (no quotes)
  12. Enter the user name for the email account
  13. Click OK
